Considering your options? The team at SouthEnd Dentistry is always happy to discuss the pros and cons of Invisalign and braces, and help you learn more about the cost, results and treatment time for each method of orthodontic treatment.

Is Invisalign More Expensive Than Braces?

Overall, the cost of Charlotte Invisalign and braces are usually quite similar. In most cases, Invisalign will be slightly more expensive, but the difference in cost is rarely very drastic. If you’re a good candidate for either Invisalign or braces, you’ll likely pay around the same amount of money for your treatment.

However, to get an accurate estimate of your treatment cost, you will need to come in for an orthodontic consultation. Every treatment will vary as every patient has different orthodontic needs. If you’d like an estimate for the cost of Invisalign or braces, contact SouthEnd Smiles for an appointment with our dentist as soon as possible.

Does Invisalign Work as Well as Braces?

If you qualify as a candidate for both braces and Invisalign, you can expect to get nearly identical results. Both of these methods of smile correction are perfect for straightening your smile and moving your teeth into a healthier, more attractive position.

However, this may not be true if you have more severe orthodontic problems. Compared to braces, Invisalign is not as effective for treating major issues like a malpositioned jaw or a bad bite. It also is not recommended for treating extremely crooked/crowded teeth, or teeth with very large gaps.

If you have severe orthodontic issues, Invisalign may not be appropriate for you, and traditional braces may be recommended instead.

Is Treatment With Invisalign Faster Than Traditional Braces?

Invisalign wins when it comes to treatment time. The average length of treatment for Invisalign is usually under a year, so you can transform your smile quickly with this method of orthodontic correction. In contrast, braces usually require at least 12-18 months of treatment. If you have more severe orthodontic issues and are not a candidate for Invisalign, you may even need to wear braces for 2-3 years.

However, treatment times can vary based on a number of different factors. To get an accurate estimate for how long your treatment with Invisalign or braces may take, you can schedule an orthodontic consultation at SouthEnd Smiles today!
